We live in the safest time to pirate games.

What makes you keep buying singleplayer games? Masochism?

I want to support the developers of the games I like. If I pirate something it's because it's a game from an AAA studio, but I think playing those is a waste of time so I almost never pirate.

>What makes you keep buying singleplayer games?

Firstly, thank you for making this thread every day. I think the two main reasons I would pay for stuff is
1. I like cheevos.
2. It feels like I'm supporting the devs, whether it's true or not.
I pirated lots in the past, so I don't care if people do it.

I always buy games on sale, the modt expensive game I bought was GTA V at $11 kek
I like the convenience of being able to reinstall and have cloud saves (even though I’m on private trackers where I can easily get whatever I want)
I guess it just looks nice to have a small digital collection of games

If it's convenient, it's better to buy that shit and save on headaches.
Any number of things can change that, though. Recently Gearbox made Borderlands 2 (the last good borderlands game) literally free, but considering they're gonna do fucky shit with my computer if I opt in, I will not buy their game even if it's free.

Mostly laziness. Granted I still never buy full priced games. 40€ is my hard limit for a video game, but I usually wait until they are around 20€.

The site you're looking at is Reddit, and that's what the R/ stands for. Piracy websites exist because it's not illegal in every country.

Third worlders (East Europe, Southeast Asia, India, South America) who make the bulk of Reddit /r/PCMR and /v PC/ are the group of people who pirate and skip game credits. These are the type of subhumans we're dealing with. When I finished Chrono Trigger I was taking it all in when the credits rolled. When a third worlder (pirating) finishes a game, they're exiting out of the credits and wondering why 30 other executables are running in the background with their unupdated PC build full of pirated OS softtware lol.

Same.
Good achievement system make good games even more enjoyable, and I like my progress tracked. I dislike weird achievements tho. Like fuck off with some gay unnatural shit that you would never do in a game.
This too. I almost never buy the game that I didn't play before. Some rare exceptions usually lead to reinforcing this habit. It's more to a tipping for free game than paying for a game.

Some pirated game installed a fucking botnet on my PC and google kept flagging my connection. I had to solve a captcha any time I ended up on any of their platforms. Ended up formatting the system.

"safe" should be taken with a huge grain of salt. I only downloaded from "trusted" sources and still got fucked. There's always an inherent risk you end up with some zero-day malware. At least I didn't get hit with ransomeware or some shit
