Just because a franchise is mishandled doesnt mean people can hold out hope that it will eventually get a decent game again, and it has happened multiple times with sonic.
F Zero fags havent gotten a game since F-Zero GX and that was 20+ years ago, yet they’re still fans of the series.
Star Wars fags remained obsessed with Star Wars even though it didnt get a reboot for 15 years with the prequels. People are extremely patient when it comes to franchises they love. Spongebob on the other hand has no chance of returning to former glory, plus it’s a fucking TV show that’s been milked far past the point of them ever being able to do anything interesting with and the creator is dead along with all the old writers and animators that made it great in the first place. With video games there’s far many more directions you can go in. TV shows often run out of ideas for new material after about two or three seasons. Video games can always be invented into a new experience (or nostalgic one) to keep it engaging for the player.

Maybe people said this during Frontier’s honeymoon phase, but with how much people throw 10/10s around for mediocre new releases these days, I cant take it seriously.
Then you leave off Sonic ‘06 which is unanimously agreed to be one of the worst Sonic games ever made and this topic has been beaten to death. Most of it is subjective, but generally speaking the worst offenders stick out like a sore thumb.
Either way, you should always play a game first and form your own opinion on it rather than taking the word of stranger’s online as gospel.
