By not being retarded? I have not used a controller that hinders playing platformers.

With an arcade stick.
I have that 8bitdo controller, what a piece of shit. I get half inputs randomly on the left stick.
I bought some other chinese pads that work much better (gulikit and gamesaar) with hall effect and TMR analogs.

it's an old design, they make a version with hall effect sticks now.

I use both xbox and ps layout. The Series controller has the best dpad I've ever felt

The dualshock layout honors 8/16 bit design. Whether you're playin a 2D or 3D game, your left and right thumbs are parallel to each other. Xbox controllers on the other hand, place one of your thumbs in an awkward position.

xbox is designed around 3D where you spend the majority of your time moving forward and steering with the camera. It's easier to push your thumb forward than sideways for long periods.

I have it and my only issue with it is the USB-C port being finnicky and unstable as hell, you will occasionally end up disconnecting and immediately the controller because the cable moved a teeeeeeeeeensy bit, don't know why they didn't go with their previous design with a locking port considering USB-C is fairly standardized.
Other than that it's an amazing controller, great hall effect sticks, perfect face buttons, six bumpers, four pads and a best in business D-Pad with ridiculous precision in fighting games, all microswitches.
The only other controller that can measure up is the Vader V4, the V4's main advantage is that it has gyro but you lose two bumpers to make up for that, also it looks gaudy as all hell and the D-Pad mould is nowhere as comfortable as the V3 Pro.

just ordered the one on the right, though it said it's hall-effect
I would have gotten the Ultimate 2, but I heard the dpad is worse and the L1/R1 are a lot more clicky on the 2 and I prefer the soft shoulder buttons of the dualshock
how fucked am I?
