ill do a quick little review in case this thread dies. i didnt finish the game but it is very short i think and the worlds are significantly smaller than mario odyssey, each sublayer has multiple layers but each "world" is about the size of a mario 64 level. the destruction is a meh part of the game but it gets old FAST. after the first sublayer you are not wanting to dig anymore. the story is meh and pauline is really really annoying, probably the worst sidekick in a nintendo game ever. 10x worse than navi. the only highlight of the game was king k rool appearance and thats where i stopped. the boss fights are also the worst part of the game and way way waaaaaay too easy. grumpy kong dies in just a few hits and then joins you, poppy kong is so easy that you can probably play with a blindfold on, she joins you after and pauline is used as a dialogue expositon character since the others cant speak english. there is an option to mute her thankfully but making her default be that annoying is really terrible.

oh and i forgot the bananza forms. they have almost 100% uptime and no cooldown, really ruins the experience because half of the time you play as a retarded animal form instead of donkey. the other two forms are giraffe and elephant. giraffe is a height extender thing kinda like that one form in odyssey (fucking useless because ostrich is already unlocked by then) and elephant works with water like in mario wonder

pretty mid, pauline is never explained where she came from or how she has magic singing powers but the journey to the center of the earth was cool, the undead skeletons and fossils are cool, the void co is boring front for k rool and not really crazy. just mario odyssey 2.

Jesus Christ I hate modern Nintendo so much. In the past when I ordered physical copies I would occasionally receive them a day or 2 early, once I got a game a week early because Amazon fucked up. Now I have to roll the dice wherever my console I paid almost $500 for will be permanently bricked through no fault of my own because I tried playing the game I just received. Not to mention it's really common for department stores to break street date on vidya.

I shouldn't have to memorize and remember every release date and I shouldn't be punished for opening and playing the copy I legitimately preordered through the biggest online shopping website.
