One he had no idea where the fuck Riku was and Riku didn't let Mickey just tell them he was okay. The other was safe for most of the game and the other half was just held captive, as Org XIII needed a means to keep Sora killing Heartless. The entire boss rush was so well paced and pulled off and then it ends on this banger with one of the best soundtracks and most hyped moments ever.

This was also when shounen anime fights were about being as hyped as possible and having your signature move finisher. I'm not sure if it aged well for zoomers not growing up in that time. But man when I played that as a young teen back in 2005 it was visceral. After I finished it I invited all of my friends back to my house and I replayed the boss rush in front of them and they all lost their minds over how cool this shit was.

It's still the best Kingdom Hearts final boss gauntlet. 1's is mostly enjoyable but also feels a bit messy with slowly destroying the Ansem Heartless ship thing and the laser spam. 3's feels a bit over the place and has an underwater section for some reason, as well as the forced rage form against Xehanort.

The worst is probably Ventus' from BBS. It's not especially long, but having to fight Vanitas and then being forced into a gimmick match without much time to figure it out and being able to miss the finisher sours me the fuck out.

It's the silliest shit ever but I took it 100% serious at face value when I played it back then. Including thinking the opening and intro were deep and philosophical. It's completely ridiculous in hindsight but I genuinely thought there were deeper layers there for me unpack as if it was a piece of media with something real to say.

Which happens throughout the entirety of the first game and is resolved by the end at which point Riku tells him to take care of Kairi while he stays behind and Sora sets out to find him. We then get the entirety of KH2 with Sora looking for him (and COM although his memory is wiped).

The only thing I hate bout Drive Forms is that you can't max level them up as soon as you get a Drive form. You need to wait til the end of the game with Final Form so you can be allowed to finish maxing the old forms. And hate how even when you max the forms you can't get a truly maximized mobility ability. That means Sora's Double Jump will always be worse than Master Form's Double Jump.

Sora may not be Jesus but he has more in common with Archangel Michael the leader of God's Armies. Sora literally is the one who inflicts justice on the wicked. It's also poetic that Maleficent's powers of Hell have her transform into a hellish dragon similar to Lucifer during the Bible. So Sora beating Maleficent mirrors Michael kicking out Lucifer out of Heaven. And it helps Sora is capable of growing an angel's wing as Remind showed.

And to finish it off Data Sora is not an important character even after he gets his memory erased. Nothing about him during the epilogue revelation matters.
