/vrpg/ and /vst/ are miles ahead of this shithole in terms of quality. You can actually talk about games there without needing to fill your thread with bait. And threads about less known games aren't buried because the board is slow. Take /vst/ at this exact moment. It has one twitter screencap thread and that thread has screencap has nothing to do with the question that is being asked. Don't know about the other two.

>/vrpg/
Den of schizos that nobody cares to document because only the schizos and newfags use it. The board starting off with 50% of all threads being some form of Reanposting was a sign of things to come.
>/vmg/
Waste of space for its intended usage, but now everyone has just made generals.
>/vst/
I keep seeing people here say it's good, but I'm not autistic enough to look into it.
>/vm/
Again, everyone just made generals. Works fine now.

They mostly just show why spin-off boards are a bad idea. /v/ is the most popular board and surprise surprise, spin-off boards are fucking dead outside /vg/ (schizos) and /vp/ (furfags).

They're all very slow. But you can have actual conversations there. So whatever occasionally I'll look and post but rarely.

Ultimate proof that spin-off boards don't work like what >>714913773 said.
I still see people being for another /a/ board when /a/ itself is on the verge of being at /co/ levels of activity. If spam was actually handled on that board (all the fucking dailies), it probably would be at or below /co/ activity.

/vm/ is really the only one that deserves to exist, the others are just different flavors of /v/ that serve no purpose but to fragment the board.
/vp/ doesn't really need to exist either, 95% of it is just image dump waifu threads that could just be on /e/. the few scattered game generals can band together and move to /vg/, the anime threads can move to /a/, and so on.

Having Pokemon fragmented on a dozen boards was the issue.
Keeping everything together solves several issues at once. Less furfag spam on porn boards, less Pokegirl spam on /c/ and /e/, and less confusion and trolling over its presence on /a/.
That and a lot of Pokemon is /mlp/ tier and deserving of a containment board.

There is no point of spinoff boards if you are still allowed to discuss the topics on the more populated board anyway. That's why /mlp/ was a great idea. That was the only time the site had the balls to say a particular group of people are annoying so they should be exiled to their own board.

/vm/ is a good idea badly implemented
it should have really short threads for active or planned lobbies/games only, dying after like 2 hours of inactivity
You go check the front page, see a game you want to play and know its active because the thread is there, join and have fun, then let the thread die
Now it's just slower /vg/ with nothing but generals getting endlessly bumped

/vp/ is based and gives us a place to be openly horny for our fuckable pokemon, i bet if we tried to do that here too many anons would raid and derail and the mods would take action against us too.

i don't see how pokemon being fragmented is an issue whatsoever. the pokefuckers already do their thing on /trash/, /e/ and /c/ are slow as balls and have pokegirl threads up right now anyway, and /v/ still gets pokemon vidya threads constantly. (which move faster than the entirety of /vp/)
everything you're describing already happens and no one even notices or cares.

To make it perfect they should create a dedicated gacha board
Should free up some space for actual games on /vg/

No real major updates worth noting, and mp4 support really isn't worth noting. It's a basic update that doesn't change much (beyond lowering the overall quality of what is uploaded dramatically).

niche boards, they're okay for what they are
>vmg
pointless because the jannies never move the gacha threads to there
>vm
it's vg but with a worse schizo problem due to the board being slower. it's alright besides a couple of threads.
it could use some better board functionality, though, like how /tg/ lets you roll dice. maybe a larger OP limit or other features that would make hosting lobbies/games better just the jannies still aren't giving multi-image functionality to posts like some of the alt chans
