The entire game feels like they had a deadline, had to prioritize things, and chose to prioritize making 9001 literal holes in the ground, usually with that Jade Cat thing at the bottom, instead of actually completing the core plot and half of the side quests. All of the various "Ending NPCs" with designs on the Elden Throne don't even acknowledge each other's existence, let alone try to foil each other to forward their own success. Hyetta doesn't take over as Maiden once Mel leaves because that'd make too much sense. Millicent's quest line is just flagrantly cut off right before any actual payoff with bullshit and copium. And so much more in substantial bullshit.
