I just beat the first two bosses on a new save in ER in under two hours including tons of fucking around, did this game really filter people that badly in the first section? I remember so much bitching about Margit here when this came out.

people were bitching about Margit because he's Captain Delayed von Attack. that shit's annoying to learn first time around, but now we're all well-acquainted with his tricks.

You can get through the entire game in about 3 hours if you know where to go. Its how I got my first character to ng+7. The only people filtered by Elden Ring are people that fundamentally don't like it for one reason or another, and people that have never played a souls game.
