I completely disagree with him on 8's anti-gravity gimmick being better though, that gimmick was terrible and added pretty much nothing to the actual gameplay. Wall-riding allows for much more unique track design instead of just having "obligatory anti-grav section" on every track.

He is right about 8's tracks having better presentation though.

Because the dpad on my Switch 2 pro controller is way the fuck better than the dpad on my switch 1 totk pro controller, which should be a late enough gen of a pro controller to have an updated dpad.

I did the same test he did in the video and there are no doubts about how my switch 2 dpad is way better.
I only have one Switch 2 pro controller. But if there are a lot of people claiming that it's great and then people claiming that it's bad, then I can only assume that there is a large variance in build quality. But this was news to me, that people apparently have issues with the new dpad.

the funny thing about the anti-gravity in mario kart 8 is that it's too good for it's own good. the camera follows you so well it's really easy to forget you're in anti-grav which kinda defeats the purpose of it. I think it's why they got rid of it for world besides the fact that it doesn't fit the gimmick of the game

This review sucks because nobody buys Nintendo hardware for third party titles, the software sales themselves prove this, you buy it for Nintendo games and this is going to have lots of them.
As far as his points on hardware go, there's just no way out of this, the hardware was ready years ago but contracts make it outright impossible to just change shit, especially because of how much deals Nintendo would have landed and how much bridges would have been burned had they backed out of shit, it got a slight consolation due to the delay by having Nvidia append a few features from later hardware but moving further would be a nightmare, and comparing it to Steam Deck, Steam Deck achieves about 10%-15% more performance in handheld on about 2.5x the power draw. As Far as hardware goes this is ample power for Nintendo titles, Mario Kart World already looks good and there's a lot more power in that hardware.
