That game was late to the party by at least 7 years.
Supposing it released before overwatch, it might have actually been a trend setter, but I think it just wouldn't have had the staying power, seeing as the characters in Deadlock are neither funny and videomaker material like those of TF2, nor attractive enough for all the degens
That said, I wouldn't call the game dead when it's not even released, but looking at how bad the hype for it died down, I wouldn't hold my breath expecting it to be a success either.
It'll probably have a niche sweatlord audience for about a year, maybe even hold a tournament or two, but I am not expecting most casuals to enjoy it, since mobas and competitive shooters these days are just not fun anymore, they're all about "climbing", "ELO" and trying hard, which simply isn't an option for most people who aren't unemployed or below 25
