If it's a game with limited resources and/or major repercussions, stealth.
If it's a game where resources are abundant, and there are little to no negative effects, combat.

Combat typically. Stealth always ends up feeling like some scooby-doo shit, which is fun a lot of times, but can really undercut something serious like your pic.

if there's a stealth route, that means they put a ton of effort into it. If there's a combat route, then it means they're just reusing what everyone else has already made

I pick and choose, but if I choose stealth I complete the mission 98% of the way then go back and slaughter everyone after I've picked up all the ammo and shit.
