dragon quest 8 has one of the best, and maybe one of the most underrated OSTs of all time (at least i never see people post it in threads like these).

to me, the sound track is the culmination of jrpg music. a lot of modern jrpgs, or especially remakes, try to do symphonic music, but dragon quest 8 is one of the very few that actually does it right.

Also, not EDM but some of Jesper Kyd's Mega Drive soundtracks are GOAT tier. I never liked his later era stuff that the normies seem to like but Subterrania and Amok are great.

There's not much tbdesu. I've played through hundreds of games and very few, if any, reach the heights of Chrono Cross. It's Mitsuda's magnum opus.

Check out these ost's:
