No idea why, but no other flier feels as good to me.
Some combination of the acceleration and inertia, the finer details of the jump into flight, my position on it, all of it just comes together into my favorite mount. I'll fully acknowledge some are probably better, but I adore it.
The update hurt it a tiny bit, unfortunately. Quivern isn't a good swimmer, and can seemingly struggle to get back into the air if I hit water with it.

Also, unironically Cativa. Before, it was just screwed by its bad stats, but now it's pulling weight again. Actually it has pretty nutty damage output now.

If the base is otherwise pretty secure, you can put it on top of some foundations/roofs. The problem is just if that structure ever gets destroyed, it pops the box, which breaks a bunch of other structures and sends all your guys back to the box.
As long as the base is reasonably safe, and you don't plan on doing raids there, you're good.

Beyond that, I usually avoid it and build in the edges of the base. The palbox is more or less just in the open, with a few large boxes I dump all the usual loot into.

I don't do full autism towers, I usually do 2 1/2 story buildings (2 floors and a roof), dedicated to a particular family of work.
That's the one with the mines and smelters in it, that's the one with the crafting belts, ect.

the building in this game is by far the weakest link, i would even say its complete shit. i LOVE almost everything else tho. A way to like, bridge stairs between two sets of foundations would be good. Columns and walls should be able to attach to the end of support area. Getting staircases and roofs into position requires building temporary roofs and walls in frustrating ways.

I want a way to sculpt base area. The big circle is... okay, but I want a way to release space, and gain more, to better fill areas, not waste tons of space going over cliffs or water, ect.
Farm plots need to be a bit smaller. All plots should be the size of the berry plot. Farm plots are THE reason I need to build towers, I feel.

Furniture sets need to be compressed in the tech screen. Paying a tech point for couches is highway robbery, that is cluttering the screen and is absolutely going to throttle later game development. These decorative sets need to either be compressed into a building set, or at least into a much lower number of "packages" containing multiple sets of decorative furniture.
Also I want pals to use decorative furniture. I know that one's a reach, but, I want shit like pals trying to sit at benches to eat, or just when they're on break or idling.

I think it's being done by palworld first, before they become the specific target of any part of the lawsuit.
Pretty much everything else is notably distinct, mounting pals properly has a combat application, something pokemon has never done.
Gliding with pals is pretty much the only thing you can point to existing in Legends Arceus, without any real changes to it to make it its own thing, along with balls to send out your guys.

In my mind, the obvious answer to the ball problem is make tbe ball launcher a standard piece of equipment, for both sending out your guys, and catching wilds. Nintendo hasn't patented a grenade launcher, just throwing grenades, so to speak.

I'd also like animations for base pals around this, like playing in the snow, trying to stay under roofs to hide from rain, or getting scared by thunder, with variation in who does what. Maybe all those describe Cattiva, while Pengullet slides through snow, plays in the rain, and looks unhappy in heat waves. You get a book 100% of the time practically from Feybreak supply drops, so try to force that event every time the CD is up. Maps also seem to give them pretty often, so try running enemy bases that have a chance of dropping maps. They buffed her base walking speed by quite a lot this patch so you don't need to have speed passives for just running around. AFAIK, they don't affect grapple momentum at all, so once you get good at grapple+double jumping, the only thing you'd need is infinite stamina.
I gave my spider the normal offensive loadout so she can do good damage, although she's never gonna be as powerful as a true combat pal. 1. Set up mass cake production. Either one base making a fuckton of cakes, or 2/3 making some in addition to whatever else they do.
2. Grind passives. The best way to do this currently is fishing. The glowy fish spots are the most reliable ways to get rainbows, and there's some pretty consistent glowy spots on the new little islands. Shoot for Demon God, Diamond Body, and Swift at minimum, Lunker, Vampiric, and the fukkin work speed one can also be nice.
2.5 Grind bounties and the arena to buy the chips. Doesn't have to be done now, but the sooner you start, the sooner you finish
3. Trait Condensation. Breeding your rainbow trait pals together, to get a handful of pals that carry multiple. Do not worry about Yellow traits, those can all be table'd (Aggressive, Musclehead, Runner, and Serenity for the most part)
3.5. Trait Laddering. If the pals you have concentrated traits onto are pretty low tier, breed them up to a higher tier. You can either calc this to make a Yakumo later or just keep breeding offspring with some other high tier pal
4. Go get Legend. You can put this off a bit, but anything you do after this point will have to be redone once you get it. That's actually not the end of the world, since condensation can be absorbed, and a temporary Yakumo can fuel the next. By this point, the type booster traits besides Lunker are probably not worth it, and even Lunker is a bit eh, so ignore.

The point of Yakumo is to save time in the long run. Using Yakumo, you can generate ideal traits on something just a single generation away from whatever your target is, that are tailored to what you want that pal to do. Without Yakumo, you are signing up to spend multiple breed generations transferring traits over to chain into what you want. If you want to do that, then, by all means, skip Yakumo as a step, he's not necessary, just a time save.
Yakumo is also the only way to efficiently get traits on anything that can only be born by two of itself, like Jetragon. Without Yakumo, you are just stuck breeding hundreds of Jetragon until one magically manifests Demon God or whatever.
There is, unfortunately, currently no way to apply Yakumo's effect to the raid boss pals, unfortunately, since they are technically not caught, but hatched from "found" eggs. They're stuck doing raw odd breeds to naturally manifest rainbow skills, unless something like Yakumo for eggs is released.
A work Yakumo is something you COULD do, but since you're only *really* needing to breed a single rainbow in Remarkable Craftsmanship, a third Yakumo may wind up costing more time than it saves, since you aren't really needing to get multiple rainbows. The Sanity reduction, and hunger reduction rainbow passives are... nice, but are nowhere near as impactful as just stacking work speed bonuses. If you MUST have all three, then, a third Yakumo might be worth it at that point, but I think that's overkill. Work pals, I find, do "fine" with just Artisan, but maybe it's not about "fine" for you.

A few personal improvements over this
1. Catch a merchant and get a money printer, this allows you to dedicate your cake farm to just flour and honey, as the remaining 3/5 can be bought (just keep the retrival machine nearby, because you will be buying those in thousands)
2. Get a Braloha and condense it to the max, it increases breeding speed while being present in the base (he likes to watch)
3. Philantropist and Nocturnal are your best friends when breeding for condensation, you can implant them on the surgerical table.
4. Farm bounties for the pal gender reverser, you will need plenty of them
5. Don't go overboard with passives on Yakumos, keep it to 2 at max, otherwise you will be at the mercy of rng. This is especially important when you start farming legends. Remember that yakumos have 30% chance to implant the passive, and they can't overwrite existing passives, so the fewer the passives on yakumo, the bigger the chance of implementing the right one.
6. There's no shame in increasing the egg hatching speed in the world, you will be making more eggs than you're capable of hatching soon.

Wood can be almost completely ignored later on, and you can harvest hundreds in a few seconds by taking any pal with a big AOE and fukkin blasting an area of trees anyways. If it's an Astegon or something, make that harvest thousands in a few seconds. The only uses it has are a few fistfuls for some structures, and being turned into charcoal, to be turned into carbon fiber. Coal can do this too, and eventually you'll stop needing coal for ingots as much, and it does other stuff, so you can just shift over to coal instead. You don't need the tens of thousands you will accumulate from logging camps, unless you love building giant, fuckoff megastructures in the wilderness because you think it's fun. Even if you do want to do that, just bring an Astegon and harvest all that wood on-site, instead of carrying it there

Medicine, is a very situational, but useful skill. You won't use it often, but when you start making stat boosters and shit, those take fucking forever, so good medicine pals are nice.
