Eh....
It was a mixed bag, to say the least.
At its core, its a very very good expansion of PVZ. Whereas PVZ1 is a slow and zen experience, 2 is chaotic and erratic doing whatever you can to overcome the world's bullshit. It's much more challenging than 1, and that has made me enjoy it more on the long run.
HOWEVER, there's a tiny thing that makes it hard for me to recommend it. EA. The game, as a GaS, it's awful and the power creep plants much ruin the balance. And you can just pay to win your way and disregard all the fun challenges.
Basically, if you could remove the jew shit and make it a Stand Alone, tweek some stuff (like letting you tackle worlds out of order and some other stuff, it would be a pretty kino experience. But as it stands.... Eh.

There's at least two mods that do just that. One makes the game all hardmode, there's another that turns it into an infinite grind game, and a third that just guts out all the p2w shit.
