I played deus ex on pc and now on PS2, it wasn't bad. Hong Kong is unrecognizable but the game didn't suffer much unless you want to do over the top assassination like jumping from the adjacent building to escape after getting the drop on Chow, impossible now because the map is divided into smaller chunks and you can't interact between bots present in the other unless you move there.
Take the naval shipyard, you can't get all the way on top to nuke everything everywhere from that vantage point with a gep. Gotta do it selectively. But anyway it's not a bad port.
So, taking all this into account how's deus ex 2 if deus ex 1 PS2 load times didn't bother me too much?

I don't care for the muddy textures. It's the map. The market you're starting at is kept away from the rest of the map in its little subterranean cuck zone, and there's a "central corridor" connecting the lucky money, the canal with the street, the compound/monk temple, and Versalife building. They're all existing in independent zones and that corridor "hub" serves as the connector, it's a different experience from the pc one. And the map that changed the most.

You don't need points in it since the missiles lock onto targets so aiming is irrelevant, and the damage is enough even without the skill boost.

You got the LAM, the emp grenades, the secondary explosive ammo for the assault rifle, you can hack defense systems to turn bots off or attack everything on sight, you got a lot of cloaking vests all around, you get the anti radar upgrade too, there's plenty of options to deal with robots without having to carry a giant gep gun around in your inventory.
That's what's great about deus ex, its ability to give you many options thanks to the flexibility of the cybernetic old men.

Everything into electronics and lockpicking. No hacking you're computer illiterate and you also LOVE shotguns. So that's what you use. Sure you can use the prod as well. Make sure to pick radar transparency or whatever the bot invisibility aug is not the normal cloak.

Nah, it's got a worse art style and OST. Not really worth it.

For me it's Transcended. It just fixes a bunch of things and makes realistic difficulty a bit more interesting by making the AI a bit smarter. The gameplay changes it makes are overall pretty minimal and there's a few I didn't like but I could turn those off.

Assuming master skill and headshots, 1 shot for commando and 2 for mib. Sawn-off oneshots even mib if all pellets hit the head (5 damage * 5 pellets * 2x skill bonus * 8x headshot multiplier = 400 damage vs. 350hp). Targeting aug can improve the damage even further.
I'm not saying shotguns are good, just that they're alright if you want to spec in them.
