Don't forget: You're here forever

On topic: My dad is 71 and he used to play Chessmaster on Gameboy and sometimes N64 with us, until he stopped because "it's all moving too fast for me".
When he visited me a few years ago he liked H3VR and Assetto Corsa in VR, but he got motion sick pretty quickly. He also enjoyed ATS when I showed it to him.
Thinking about putting OpenTTD or Ultimate General: Civil War on his laptop, though I think he would be overwhelmed by the UI.

Isn't there a way to fix the motion sickness?
He'd probably enjoy the shit out of BeamNG.

Motion sickness with VR is a tricky thing, it can be transient because you need to get used to it, or you're just stuck with it.
Due to the nature of visits there simply wasn't enough time to find out which kind of motion sickness his was, though I think it was the first one, as on other occasions he managed to keep it on for longer; though it was also another headset; one of those standalone wireless things.
It was also pretty cute because he's one of those people who get completely immersed; he was watching a video of diving with sharks and when the shark approached the camera, he actually jumped up and yelled.

Most millennials will play games into their 80s or until arthritis makes it too hard to use a controller. But even then there will be games aimed at them. Most boomers still watch TV with most of their free time like they did when they were younger too.

Yeah that is a vr brain right there. If you ever get the chance again, you could let him try out aircar. Its on steam completely free and a good sickness trainer and atmospheric asf, like basically the aircar from blade runner. Once you get used to it there is very little else that can phase you in vr outside massive stuttering

Itโ€™s ignorance. Speaking broadly of course, they did not suffer like their parents generation did, so the idea of needing to pass down knowledge is foreign to them unless they specifically struggled enough as an individual for the lesson to sink in that they can prevent others from making the mistakes. My theory anyway.
