play DS1 first
Ideally pirate PTDE and get DSFIX (and mouse input costumizer if necessary which includes a necessary fix for the sens to not be horrendous), that will be the ideal first playthrough. You can either play at 60fps and remember to turn it off whenever going down certain ladders or the most huge long jumps, or you can just be lazy and play it on 30fps all the way through. Get a keybind for it if you do the former
Alternatively just play Remastered, its not as pretty but its still good, but play offline: save-ruining hackers are common these days
Play DS2 SOTFS afterwards, its great out of the box.
But if youre on keyboard and mouse, remember to turn off the "Disable double clicks" setting *every time* you boot up the game, or else you will have horrible input delay. For some reason it needs to be turned on and off whenever you launch the game for it to have an effect
The multiplayer has held up way better and its nice even in current day PVP and coop alike, but you should periodically backup your save just in case some exploiter fucks it up which is unlikely
Then play DS3 afterwards, i think nobody really cares about DS3 online these days and its just a more generic railroaded action game compared to the others so i think it plays better offline
