Why did Steamies stop playing Just Cause 2 after mission 2?
This might be the biggest discrepancy I've seen in a sandbox game or a mission based game in general.

I think JC2 is a fun game too, so what the heck happened? I'm trying to think of a comparison as crazy, like playing Vice City, unlocking the second island, then refusing to play story missions.

why does it bother you so much
when was the last time you played a video game instead of making another one of these shitty cope threads about someone elses money you couldn't spent yourself?

The game has been on sale for $1.49 a bunch of times. Shitloads of people probably bought it on a whim, didn't like it that much, and dropped the game. They probably didn't even miss the money.
Why are you obsessed with other people's completion rates of games? Why should someone be obligated to finish a game that cost $1.49?

>buy sandbox game for spare change from selling Steam trading cards
>just fuck around in open world, don't really care about doing the missions

its a sandbox game.
Same reason most people stop playing the story mode in GTA games as soon as they have access to the open world

I replayed Vice City a dozen times as a kid, sometimes messing around, sometimes doing the whole story, but the point is, I still beat it a ton growing up. The % here is grim and I know JC2 isn't Vice City, but damn.

His point is still valid. There is no worse example for your autistic "everyone who starts any video game should finish it" argument than a sandbox game that goes on sale for chump change.

Is this the new steamcharts thread? Where you look through achievements and then ask why people havent played the games?

anyone remember that balls tothe wall insane multiplayer mod for this game like 12 years ago?
that's why I and a group of friends bought this game.
I was the only one to actually try the singleplayer and only did the intro mission.

Also fuck off OP.

Let's see... Arma 3 is now over a decade old game and only so few have actually even finished the tutorial. Or even changed their game settings.

You can have a lot of fun with the game without paying attention to the missions. Beat mission 1, then enjoy the sandbox. Do mission 2 at some point, realize it's not as good as fucking around, then go back to fucking around.

PCTroons don't play games they just boot them up enough to take some screenshots with modded graphics so they can 'lord over' the 'console peasants'

I played some missions and then mostly dicked around in the open world. Remind me how the completion of structured missions makes a good metric for a physics sandbox game?

The factions are pretty good and had some genuine inspiration that reminded me of something out of Saints Row 2. Cutting them from JC3 and 4 was a big mistake.

you need to stop worrying so much about other peoples business and just worry about your own life, what people do with their money is their problem, and how they play their games is their prerogative.

Because there's 7 'missions' but each one is actually a long ass chapter of sub-missions. Plus there's 3 whole other factions of stuff to do and lots of random tasks, plus open world fucking about.

anything to win
any small victory is something to be seen
I will prove that steamies don't play video games
I don't care if it takes hours or days
My victory, my pride
It'll be my triumph over the other side
A winner, a victor I'll be
I'm the king, bow before me

To be fair, the setting achievement is for adjusting singleplayer difficulty, most people just jump into a server where the mission is set for you
Control, Graphic, Audio settings etc. don't factor in

If I remember correctly you need to work with one of the factions after the second mission, anyway I found dealing with the panau army to be tedious after a while.

JC is for running around in the open world and blowing shit up, not for doing missions.
Anonymous No.714972856
>>714966805
Exactly. If I wanted mission structure and story pacing I'd play literally anything else. JC is about turning an oil refinery into fireworks with a bus strapped to a helicopter, not pass/fail stealth sections. Anyone crying about mission completion rates in a chaos simulator is missing the entire damn point.
