>>714983005I don't remember much, something about twins or some shit.
I literally don't get how people can get "spoiled" to the point it seems to completely ruin the purpose of consuming the media.
"omg someone told me ironman dies in endgame" like it completely invalidates the rest of the movie, as if the entire reason for watching to movie was to answer the question "does ironman die in endgame". I don't actually watch capeshit so i don't know if there's a reason people care about whether or not ironman dies or not in the first place.
yet apparently i'm pretty sure no one of the 99% of players knew undretale had le epic sans skeleton battle if you killed every monster in every area, and it didn't bother them to be told, spoiled the way to unlock it. Even though games with multiples endings where they rely on the player strongly self-inserting and have the game world be derived from the players psyche and a result of it.
The result is that it diminished the impact of reaching that ending, instead of being a "whoa you've went out of your way to kill every fucking thing either on your first try because you're a psycho due to how grindy it gets to get encounters, or because you're a completionist autist" it became "hehe you played that way just for le funny 'hard' unexpected skeleton fight".

>>714961695 (OP)https://youtu.be/wJeaRLWYrcY
>>714985414It's not, it's completely different. Knowing who dies at the last second of a movie doesn't affect your experience with the movie. At all.
Somebody telling you "Sans is a secret boss" won't affect how you play the game. This is the direct equivalent to the movie situation.
Somebody telling you to play a certain way DOES affect your experience. My point is that people are upset in the movie situation but don't care about the game situation, probably because they never intended to interact with the game long enough in the first place to discover that on their own, but no one is upset to not know how they would have felt if they organically reached sans battle, even though I believe it's much more impactful than the difference between watching a dumb movie without knowing if a random character dies or not.
Maybe I should have said "upset by being spoiled" to be more accurate.
>>714983839Since I'm always late for popular media I always get spoiled several years ahead of time. The few times I wasn't late for it I never once thought it made the experience worse since the end or twist by itself is meaningless.
I wonder if anyone else remembers or if it was memory holed but it was on here or Reddit that there were GTA V spoilers right before it came out. It was a leaked ending and a female reporter voiceover about an "Officer Trevor Philips" working undercover and I thought it made sense for him to act like he did if he was just playing a character in deep cover
So I went through the whole game waiting for the other shoe to drop and it never did. It might have been more intriguing honestly.

>>714987284Congratulations, you're mentally sound.
>>714986568It entirely does affect your experience because it changes your perception of the whole story in ways you're not even equipped to fully judge, in fact it does so in both your situations and that alone can be enough to change how you play the game. Many people are equally upset or not by being spoiled in both instances, and there are those like yourself who consider it the other way round, regardless it is all weak attempts at putting the genie back in the bottle that focus entirely on the feelings of the person who did the spoiling, not the one who has to deal with being spoiled in the first place. Hence, sociopathy.
>>714961695 (OP)>What is the most bizarre way a video game has been spoiled for you? It's a toss-up for me between Google AI overviews blurting out massive story spoilers when just googling a certain character name; or Steam putting unmasked story-spoiling achievements earned by other players on the timelines shown in various places of the platform.

How are spoilers such a big deal to you that you throw literal tantrums over it?
It changes absolutely nothing. Even if you know what the ends is, you don't know how things even evolve to get there in the first place, so what does it even matter? There's been polls done before and more people said that their experience wasn't destroyed at all by being spoiled than there were people who said their experience was destroyed by spoilers. In fact, more said that it actually enhanced their experience knowing what was going to happen at some point, but not exactly how. So the element of surprised and wonder was still there, but instead of just being in the 'unknown' zone, it was more in the 'how' zone while actively trying to piece things together as the movie went along to see how it dies in with the spoiler.
It ended up giving people more of an active watch when they were spoiled than just passive one if they weren't.

>>714983005I got spoiled by a meme too, the "what's in the box" scene from Seven. I had to stop watching the movie 80% in because I was busy, then saw that scene in some meme comp and immediately connected the dots. I havent seen the movie to date, but I'd bet my nuts its Pitt's wife's head, right?
>>714983005David Bowie is Tesla.
>>714961695 (OP)Not gaming, but movies got spoiled by the translations many times in Finland. Most infamous was The Shawshank Redemption. It was called "Rita Hayworth - key to escape".
>>714993028I got spoiled about Gerson coming back at the end of C4 because some meme used the Dual Buster prompt
>>714996484That's hilarious. It's like JAV videos where they say the whole plot in the title.
>>714961695 (OP)>Watching a playthrough of Danganronpa last month, going in completely blind with zero idea what the theme, tone, or basic story structure will be>Get to the second trial, absolutely in love with the characters and presentation (PW: Ace Attorney is one of my top-10 games, I adore whodunits)>Since I'm a writefag, I ask ChatGPT about how to write Junko's voice, seeing if I can't figure out what made her dialogue "click" and feel so punchy>
Granted, I knew the slight risk going in, but what's the fun in being safe. Language models like ChatGPT are really useful to help dissect character voices, their cadences, and speech patterns.
>>714961695 (OP)Mine was pretty silly, kek.
>playing Infamous 1>pissed about Moya, that lying bitch>anyway, I liked John White, including his response "who the fuck is Moya!?">damn, he died>well, I like lore, so lemme see what some fan wiki says about him>first imageGo on, look up for "John White infamous 1". I didn't mind it, though, only made me wanna play the second one even more.
>>714996523So you're just retarded then. Got it.
>>714996071Ah yeah I cannot read apparently
That is a pretty major spoilerino
I forget exactly who but a japanese artist that did mostly fat women posted about the final boss of shadow of the erdtree the day before it came out
>>714996828If you don't understand the meme you should leave. This website is too complicated for you
You can't spoil the game I'm playing now
>>714961695 (OP)some anon leaked the whole Fallout 4 plot here, said he was a disgruntled dev
he nailed everything, way before launch too
>>714994793See? Clearly a effect of missed medication.
Although I wonder if there are meds that could cure you being a dumbest NPC in galaxy.
>>714986568everyone who plays undertale should be executed
>>714977420Because the guy getting spoiled was likely a non-confrontational, out of shape, very likely white nerd. You know, the kind of people bullies target because there's little to no risk of facing actual consequences?
>>714997801NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>714961695 (OP)I never seen any of the Marvel movies, what was this ending he was bitching about?
>>714961695 (OP)What is with the general expectation that parts of stories can't be talked about at all. Knowing the ending of a movie doesn't ruin a movie, otherwise how shit is that movie.
>>714998307are you genuinely saying knowing the ending of, say, fight club, or jacob's ladder wouldn't ruin the movie on your very first time seeing it?
The dumbest way I've ever been spoiled for something was 4chan's "Spike Dies" but for some reason assuming it was about Buffy, which I was in the middle of watching at the time. And he does. It did spoil me despite not even being about that fucking show.
>>714998307I'm playing through System Shock 2 for the first time, it's the first time I'm playing it. It's really obvious that that Janice Polito is Shodan. I don't know if this was supposed to be a "twist". lol
>>714998286Taynos genocides like half of the population so Disney doesn't have to pay for so many B-tier actors
Ending is a big CG fest fight where Iron Man dies
or was it Spider man? I don't remember. Cap's actor is tired of doing his role so he fucks off forever
>>714961695 (OP)I remember some Saudi billionaire and his friends saw Endgame 2 or 3 weeks in advance and uploaded it to Pornhub.
Watched it at work with all my coworkers that way
>>714998761Her face is on the cover, it's an educated guess more than anything.
>>714989765Nah, it's totally sociopathic on a basic textbook level. The act of not spoiling is a near universal social custom and breaking it shows that you lack common courtesy and treat people as objects of your amusement.
>>714998952The Communist meat thingy, and the cunt yelling at me all the time made it obvious, lol.
>>714961695 (OP)Usually I hate people who spoil shit, but capesloppers deserve it for having shit taste.
>>714961990I got spoiled on sixth sense two decades ago and to this day I still haven't seen it because there's no point anymore.
>>714993597Interesting! Sun's blessings on you.
>Play Knights of the Old Republic for the 1st time just this spring
>Taris Underground
>Fail to open chest
>Want to know what's inside it to know if it's worthwhile to come back to
>Try to google said chest
>Instant spoilers
God fucking damnit
I survived 20 years just fine only to do that to myself
The Reveal was cool as well
>>714996484>>714996624Perunanlehtipuukotuksen Lunastaminen just isn't a good name.
>>715000623I don't know, probably sounds better if I spoke the language. Otherwise it's like the Swedish Chef having a stroke.
>>714961695 (OP)based, fuck capeshitters
>>714996249Yes.
>>714996484Didn't the same thing happen with The Thing? But that's within the movie itself.
