No Nintendo in the top 20, Switch 2 really came out at a perfect time to keep dominating again. Switch 1 still selling too. Gonna be fun to keep seeing the downfall of Playstation in the future

Circana tracks dollars not sales. A lot of games have multiple versions or often an early access special edition, especially popular with game pass or other subscription service releases for obvious reasons. Is it useful to know Black Ops 6 sold a bazillion copies or is it more useful to know if people were buying the base edition, blackcell packs, etc.?
May was delayed but we'll get June's sales in a couple weeks. Mario Kart World would need a lot of huge qualifiers since you can either buy it at $50 or at $80. Sales numbers are no doubt impressive either way but the total dollar amount gained is also an important metric.
The major platforms are all holding their summer sales. If Circana ranked by raw units imagine how easy it would be to game it by selling your game at a massive discount, especially during the summer months with very few new major releases.

As Mat puts it, a dollar is a dollar.

It’s wild seeing a Mario Kart game not even make the list-like watching the sun not rise one morning. Either Switch 2 owners didn’t bite yet or the new kart physics kicked some tendies straight into oncoming traffic. Maybe the dripfeed of DLC finally caught up with it.

Nintendo never shares eshop data so Minecraft would have a missing gap and MLB doesn't share digital data for some reason. Other than that it's corroborated by platform holders and the publishers.

What difference does it make? It's still counting retail sales only.
