What do you think about Valheim?
I see a lot of players who have spent over 100 hours in the game, but many are complaining about the slow development and the unnecessarily difficult grind.

It's reasonable for openworldsurvivalcraft but the genre has definitely evolved past it while the devs took their sweet fucking time. Don't get me wrong, I got 50 hours out of the game in 2021 and they have added a moderate amount of shit since then but these days I'd recommend Enshrouded over it.

With the enemy wallhacking bug, Far Cry is barely playable.

By the bad AI I just mean "old game AI" where they barely have any tactics, they just run to where they think you are and shoot and hit hard. They don't take cover or flank you as far as I can tell. When you make a noise they shout something random. Crouching in grass makes them less likely to see you (according to the stealth meter) and they run past you and stand around. You know, typical old game stuff.

I didn't buy any of these, because they suck and fanatical sucks

As far as official releases, I'd pick it over Portable, but FES plays fine in an emulator, so that's an option too.
Quality of life changes are nice, but I feel like it's worse in some other ways. Still not a bad way to play the game, but it's hard for me to really call it better than FES. Definitely easier to get into though, so if that's a concern, just grab P3R.

Abyss School is about a pair of girls trapped in a sadistic school, and you progress by solving (easy) escape room types of puzzles populated by increasingly dangerous (but still not very difficult) monsters.

Vampire Mansion is a get-chased-by-an-unkillable-monster game. It's a vampire in a mansion. Very self-explanatory.

Crawling Lab is a roguelite FPS, sort of like Killing Floor but not nearly as good. (Most of the levels are stupidly easy to cheese as they're wide open and you can plink away at stationary enemies.) Easily the least lewd and my least recommended, even though I'm still finding fun with it with endgame customization and setting personal challenges.

So it's a toss-up between Abyss School and Vampire Mansion.

Portal 1 is very short. The writing is actually somewhat believable inside the world unlike 2.
There aren't any hard puzzles, it's more about learning the mechanics.
There is an RTX version if you care about that.

Half-Life 1 is perfectly playable except for the last few chapters (Xen) but they're pretty short. The world of Half-Life is still good and interesting. I played it for the first time in 2022 I think. Opposing Force (standalone expansion) is even better, but Blue Shift isn't very important.

As anon said, Xen is extremely long (but also beautiful) in the fan remake, Black Mesa. The unfinished Blue Shift mod adds even more levels and is even more polished than the base game. Highly recommended.

The better you get at it the worse it gets. On the survivor side you realize that for a good portion of the game only one person gets to actually play the fun part of the game while everyone else holds M1, on the killer side you realize that for the most part your victory is reliant on survivors making mistake so you have to play lame and stall until that happens. I got off this ride and stayed on long past it was fun due to chasing that one good game, please don't subject yourself to this.

I beat it a few weeks ago: The DLC is pointless, its weapons that randomly drop except you can use them slightly earlier. The weapons are also not that great. It has a bit of backtracking, but no worse than other metroidvanias I have played. I didn't get the "true" ending which just involves grinding/exploring more to level up. Think I was slightly off on that, but its just a different cutscene. No new fight.

I enjoyed it, though I do concede I played it coop.

Skul without a question. I own 91 roguelites on steam and its easily top 3.
Combat depth depends on what you mean by that. Every Skul has a completely different basic moveset, may have their own gimmicks for moving (ie teleport), their own move when switched to, 2 skills chosen out of a pool of about 5 per Skul. As you rank the Skul's up (excepting legendary which start at max rank), all of these properties and their passive abilities can change. ie
Kratos looking greatsword guy starts out able to charge when using a skill with 1 skill, then you rank him up. Now he has 2 because he's a third tier skull. And now his charging is invincible and gains damage if used to block. Then you upgrade him again and now his skils change their properties if used to block.
Its the kind of game I wouldn't believe to exist, its so high-effort.

That said the map randomization is terrible so don't expect anything on that front. You will see the same rooms over and over again

WASTED has a really good OST and the intro alone will make you want to keep playing. Just had a update last year (after the dev got fucked over the rights over his own game from Adult Swim but thankfully got them back) which added a lot of QoL shit, also check WASTED: Binge Edition, it's a mod that adds a shitload of weapons, consumables and fairly changes the vanilla gameloop, so basically you are set for about 80 hours worth of gameplay for $3.50.
