Now all that happens is

We're also getting MVM content for the first time in 12 years, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Addending to this:

People will play each map once and them move on. Also there have been plenty of PotatoTF MvM events before and people didn't show that much interest after a while so I don't get why anyone would care about a MvM update that's probably going to be basically the same thing, maybe with some small scripted events

I just want weapon balance changes but Valve can't monetize that so whatever

I don't think that makes much of a difference. The fact that comp got added as an official gamemode didn't make people start caring about it, and neither will an MvM update unless it adds another carrot for people to buy tickets. Most people don't care to play MvM casually nowadays

Community servers are so stalematey and unfun. It's just a bunch of people with meta loadouts all roughly at the same skill level trading back and forth with 1:1 kd. Hard pill to swallow, but the actual ideal casual match is a complete gradient of skill levels all interacting unpredictably together.

I too had a spout where I played a ton of TFC right after Meet Your Match "ruined" TF2 forever, but in the end I realized TF2 is just an all around superior game, despite it's flaws.
I only go back to TFC for the occasional /v/an night now.
