I disagree, Ryu-Ge literally had no gameplan and TSaur was just a few generic dino bosses + Xeno, there was so little to it that it actually isn't an archetype last time I checked, it's a series of nonspecific dino support.
Hecaton is lacking a final card but it has clear goals and design for how it's supposed to play even if it uses cards like Tao to pad out the non-bricking capacity of the deck. The giant slug-leech dragon boss alone takes it far from being like those two, and at minimum it has a decent archetypal handtrap.

Ryu-Ge can already play on its own, but it still prefers some kind of type support. The best is dino for several reasons. Heca right now can't play its full gimmick on its own. It is a deck that would enjoy being maxx c'd or mulcharmy'd but it lacks explosive hand movements that would promote that. Once you're handtrapped with either you could start to grab things from places and summon your stuff. The most reliable way to enable them is by playing cards that force plays but also support the type and that's chimera, the illusion pile that already plays other illusion support like the white forest/azamina. The reprints in DBPs just signal which type of cards you should use. Just because the spell takes control of monsters doesn't mean you should use it. The ideal use case is that you would be resetting your used counter traps by adding them back with the level 8 fusion. Beside that they just have battle protection and nothing else.

Ryu-Ge pure is very difficult to actually get going because it's such a brickfest. I don't think Heca is comparable either way though, like I said it's mostly more comparable to something like Myutant. We'll have to see what it gets to complete the archetype to see if it gets good though. Vaalmonica was legitimately unusable on release and totally changed when Selettrice came out because they finally had something to summon aside from Angello and Dimonno.

It is not. First of all it's incomplete. Ryu-Ge is not, the evil pend is dogshit. Secondly it's got actual good interruptions and some cards that in theory read well but are too reliant on the quickplay bouncing a S/T right now to function. You're being overtly hyperbolic on how it uses generic type support to fill gaps when most decks do that. Though we'll see later how it works when people start using Trickstar style bullshit to force people to play with them.

It's literally just ground and meteorus, you don't summon the bosses ever because evolzar lars is better. It's genuinely sad how poorly konami treated them (VS is now meta, near tier zero in fact, while nouvelles finally became a real deck) simply because generic dino support is too good, why not slap a dino lock way earlier in the combo if you don't want them to abuse all the bodies it shits out? Or hell, simply make the deck not be so reliant on ovi and the gang just like jurrac, which CAN shit out UCT + triple evolzar, or UCT + double evolzar + apollousa/protos/colossus on top of asteros and the trap just fine, but since the whole goal is nuking the board multiple times, you're don't really want to clog up your board with negates that you probably won't even use.

I built luna's deck last week and it's a complete mess, and i'm genuinely shocked because it actually got a ton of support.
Obviously i'm not the best 'eck builder around, but i feel like it still needs more help, namely a searcher for the 3 monster types it runs (give it a synchro lock so it doesn't end up being a ROTA for 3 types that lack one), a tuner that does more than just being a tuner (even a mere sunny pixie retrain that you can treat as a non tuner would go a long way, but ideally it would search or summon LIGHT beasts from deck too), and a real boss monster because AFLD doesn't actually do anything lmao.

The most success i've had with it was a melodious variant that fixed the going second issue by running DRNM and "controlling" the board with black rose's nuke until you get a chance to swing, but the synchro toolbox for the levels it can summon sucks. And TCG has it even worse thanks to the lack of baronne.

The new flamvell volcanic solo gate isn't optimized for anything and has a stupid AI but it'll still destroy basically anything less than a 2023+ meta deck because it burns, raigekis you, summons big bodies and has Promethean Princess. To

You can format DT from the Ice Barrier pov and get most of the required exposition because they were closely involved with most early events.

As for what the other anon wants, RPG styled games that use the lore characters can be made just fine. And this works for all the narratives. DT, TD, WL, Albaz, Visas, White Forest and even minor plot driven characters could fit some RPG game on their own. At times I just believe Konami is creatively starved because any other company would've pushed for independent projects using those characters already.

That is a huge difference and it really shows with how shitty the DT gates are at progressing the overall story. It's just a gigantic collection of vignettes with the worm invasion MAYBE in the background. It sure isn't with the Fabled gate.
How you fix it: do it from the Worm POV because they're the invaders, then have all the other tribes shitting bricks and seeing their reaction. That's how StarCraft was framed, human campaign was assblasted by zerg, then you go the zerg POV and finally protoss.
Worms aren't even the endboss but they are the over arching threat but the DT gates are just a disjointed mess. They are the opposite of fun and enjoyable, I'd rather replay Kino Mirror even if the deck is bad.

I don't think this Maliss meta is as bad as everyone says. As a long time Thunder Dragon player, it feels like everyone exaggerated how bad Bystials are or resilient the deck is.

The hardest part to deal with is the retarded +3 draws Maliss gets. It puts you in a bad spot because Maliss thins the deck so much, by the time they do the draws they're getting nothing but handtraps or Allures. Chessy Cat is the most retarded card in the deck and puts pressure on you needing to run Droll vs Veiler.

If you don't run Droll, Red Ransom, White Binder and Chessy generate a +4 and you get overwhelmed by cards. If you don't run Veiler they end on a full board. If you run both, they end on a half board and you don't have enough cards to break the 6 interactions they have.

Slop decks were (and are) an amalgamation of small engines that one card combos and when you deal with one they play the next one, that's why playing against something like sefs is so exhausting, because you have to deal with trash like kashtira or the millenium engine, then the fiendsmith engine, and then the diabellstar and the last card is snake eye ash and you want to gouge your eyes out. But this is just one hyper consistent engine designed to trivialize basically all your interactions and push through with their plays unless they somehow opened dogshit and you hard counter it.
Not only is stopping such a gameplan difficult for most decks, closing the game on the crackback whey they can still slop on your turn and search for traps that they can infinitely recycle and activate faster than labrynth is very difficult. Since they're obviously not going to hit this deck, the rest of the field needs to power up.

If Maliss opened a bunch of extenders you were probably losing no matter what you had. But if Maliss soft bricks, open 1 starter but no extender or power spell, Veiler stops their turn. They don't run lights so crossout is a non factor, their only way of stopping veiler is called by.

Nothing Maliss does is more extreme than any tier 1 combo deck from the past 3 years. The biggest difference is, compared to a deck like Yubel, Maliss ends its turn with 6 cards in hand and can draw more cards on your turn. Yubel had 0 draw power outside of Maxx "C", unless they roach you that endboard was it and if you broke it the crackback was just ramming while Nightmare Pain was up.
The deck is strong and consistent but the only absurd bullshit is Chessy Cat, and Chessy is only tutored if you don't Droll them.
