Way worse, maybe the physics is better, but the generic 2d mario levels outnumber the unique ones.

Galaxy and especially Galaxy 2 have more spectacle and variety, but Mario feels the shittiest he ever has in 3D.

3D World is basically a genuine attempt at translating actual 2D Mario to 3D. It's more level-based and obstacle oriented.

I'd probably pick Galaxy 2 overall, but I love and appreciate 3D World for what it is.

I don't know what it is with this game but it pisses me off. I've beaten it twice, one with friends and one without, but I can't remember a single time where I thought it was a fun game.

tough question, we all know Sunshine is the worst, but there's debate to be had between the Galaxy games and 3D World, because they're fundamentally about the same thing. Galaxy leans into 3D Mario style though, and 3D World abandons all those notions to reimagine 2D Mario. I would probably go with 3D World.

Is it really? It looks like a sequel to 64 evolved from what was established by Galaxy, but not quite a galaxy 3. There's a certain wonder to Galaxy that, as far as I've seen, it doesn't really capture.
