The thing is, besides body checks what can they actually do to make it hard? Gearing and class balance is so narrow they can't really do anything other than wipe the raid for the smallest misstep

They NEED to remove the "SPEEN LISTUN TO ME" scene next, just completely edit out that scene from the fight and just have the fight play out entirely uninterrupted, and then edit Wuk out if the scene after the boss and rewrite the scene to have Sphene just talking to us in her final moments. That alone would seriously help fix the MSQ, not enough on its own, but it would be a start.

I think that anything short of a full rewrite is pointless. The writing is so awful on just about every level that I'm genuinely astonished that it made it into the game.
The story, the dialogue, the character writing, the politics, everything is unbelievably terrible.
Axe Cop is more coherent and has more mature writing and themes than Dawntrail.
