RTS isn't fun anymore it's not rewarding in anyway and doesn't give me dopamine like in the early 2000s. Only play competitive shooters if I'm playing a pvp game.

I tried AoE2 and I just didn't like it.
I also have no nostalgia for it since I never played it growing up like a lot of people did.

Too sweaty for me. And playing this game for fun is not really an option so I just stick to campaigns.

I've come to the conclusion that I only enjoy grand strategy, and EU5 is looking to be the best one to date. I really don't like microing and having a setback being absolutely devastating like >>715009145 said

Even CoH is too fast paced, whenever I played it, the best thing I liked to do was to turtling and slowly advancing just absolutely obliterating everything with artillery etc. but that's not really normal gameplay and only works against bots.

they should all take less pop space, so along with with your standard knight/archer whatever shit you pull off militia line stays viable by the fact that instead of having 10 skirmishers/pikemen/hussars you could have 15 to 20 champs

AoE2 was always meant to be a RPS with infantry-cav-archers, but militia line loses to both which is fucking retarded, militia line should get a +1 against cavalry per age or per upgrade, i'd go per age because its silly that only scouts, eagles, camels and sergeants get a bonus through aging up but militia, the only unit you can produce in the dark age stays the same shit.

Keep 2 out of 3 of these changes and militia line will stay relevant, they just need a unique role to make them stand out from ranged and cavalry, being a shittier siege unit is not it.

I am very anxious when getting into multiplayer games. Even with something as casual as team fortress I had ~300 hours with training bots before I got the courage to switch to online play. I think it's the thought of some guy styling on me and laughing at me getting destroyed makes me want to be really confident in a game before I properly play it.

RTS is a genre for high IQ, high APM individuals. If you don't have the meta build orders memorized, 20 hotkeys bound by muscle memory, and really high APM, you will never ever enjoy multiplayer and every single match will be like that star craft match where the guy was beating his ass so hard he started playing with his feet.

if you aren't playing with someone completely new, you just aren't winning. It's even worse if you get memed into playing some oldfag shit like SC2, WC3 or AoE 2 because those assholes have been playing competetively since before half of /v/ was born.
