Not sure which one to get, The special edition is on sale but I also have access to the old skyrim page to buy it on there. I'm mainly basing this on which has more mods available that are mostly up to date, and is still getting mods.

Anniversary Edition. Most of the popular normalfag mods will assume you have Anniversary Edition. You can get by with Special, but you usually have to jump through some hoops to get some mods to work. Old Skyrim has some niche sex mods and NPC replacers that were never ported and some modders still release their shit on it, but I'd imagine it's smarter to at least get Special Edition at this point.

SE and AE are the same exact version, the latter only adds a bunch of not very good creation club content, which you can easily pirate and install as regular mods (because that's what they are) if you ever need it.

Dont use AE it ruins a ton of mods. And a ton of modders hate it out of principle so they arent releasing mods for it. Therefore you will have like 70% of mods you wont be able to use. Also once you upgrade to AE. YOU. WILL. BE. FUCKED.
