Thanks anon. I use a Shure SM7B. I record the VO, hit it with a single band compressor with settings that work for me, Normalize it, then hit it with a noise reduction. While I cut it down, I eliminate any noises that the noise reduction missed. No real filters. I feel like the mic does an excellent job to start and the editing process gets it to where I like it.

Why not join a discord server and stream to the people there? Even if you just wanna stay on Twitch the most direct way to get people watching you is to befriend the people off the site and convince them to pop in the stream every now and then

Wouldn't even know where to begin to find one. If I try to find one on reddit, then it's filled with extremely disingenuous weird people who always try to take advantage of each other. If they're there all the time, they're fans, they're community, even if they don't talk much. Their existence helps boost you up a bit and there's a chance they mention you to other people. I have the Elagato HD60S and the EVGA XR1 lite. They both work fine 99% of the time, but have been finicky with OBS sometimes not recognizing them. That problem could be for a thousand different reasons though. Not all computers are the same. I've never had an issue with them fucking up during a recording or stream and that's all that really matters. I primarily use Elgato since that's what's at my desktop. The other is at my laptop. I don't particularly feel like one is better than the other, they do what they advertise.

if you guys legit want to have a viewer base, i would start by finding a streamer you genuinely enjoy watching that has a chat that's slow enough to actually read everyone's messages. just chat and hangout and try to have a good time without being obnoxious and you'll eventually start to make friends. then you start using streaming as a way to hang out with those friends. also the streamer will probably raid you if they need someone to raid, which helps a lot, even if its just 30 viewers (and half of them will immediately leave)
having more than 5 viewers on any game that doesn't have more than 1000 viewers will basically put you in the top 5 immediately. from there just treat it as a way to hang out with friends and if you start to accrue new viewers see that as a bonus. also having people talking in chat helps with having things to talk about, so less dead air.
having a skill other than being good at videogames will help get new viewers as well. even if you don't really have anything else, you can start streaming your journey to attaining a new skill and people will like watching you grow.

I appreciate you checking a vid out and the compliments as well anon. I feel like comp style vids might keep people's attention more than regular LP's. Just cut out as much of the down time as possible while retaining all the story bits. Plus less parts to a series might retain more viewers throughout it as well. I am struggling a bit with this format though since I also add some post commentary and usually write something out for an outro. Discoverability is worse than Twitch. With Twitch there are at least categories which give you a chance of people finding you. There's nothing like that on YouTube. You're up against the entire site. That being said, if you're genuinely making content on YT and getting subs, then you should absolutely be streaming there on top of streaming to other sites. Chat might be a little delayed, but I think that depends on specific resolutions and ultrawide streams. Copyright you might have to be a little more careful for, but YT has a similar feature to Twitch where it can mute sections of a VOD. However you can signal boost by use of things like shorts, or making actual videos on top of streaming. You have a few more tools to abuse the algo and wind up in somebodies recommenced screen eventually.

I ended up streaming in my native language, playing whatever my PC could handle and it turned out fine. Not stellar, but good enough to hit affiliate soon.

I really don't see how the fuck you can start streaming from scratch.
The only way I can see to start streaming is to either have some contacts with bigger streamers or to already have an audience from something else.

I have considered making a youtube gaming critic channel only so I can get some followers and start streaming.
But I was too lazy and perfectionist (I didn't want to make a complete slop) and couldn't finish my script.

Generally speaking, you can't. Twitch isn't built for people without an audience. People always say you need to round up your audience somewhere else. Though funny enough I see YouTubers like YaBoyRockLee who has 175k YouTube subscribers only managing to get 6-8 viewers on Twitch when he stream alone. Not 6-8k, just 6-8 viewers. So I don't know who to believe anymore.

A lot of older youtubers have a lot of "dead subs". Also there are a lot of decent youtubers that kinda suck as streamers, and because of that end up with a smaller audience on twitch. Some big examples are Dunkey and GirlfriendReviews.
On the other hand you have people like Joseph Anderson which end up being better streamers than youtubers.
