I would give playing it a try just to find out how bad it really was. I heard some people say that the characters handled fine, it's just that they were butt ugly. But I'd be more interested in preservation of games like Blacklight Retribution (genuinely loved that one, giving everyone two seconds of wallhack led to some pretty interesting gameplay situations) and Black Prophecy, quite possibly the only game besides EVE Online to try for customizable ship gameplay in space.
