Weird how people predicted the game was gonna be about Zonai even though there's like no mention of them in BotW. I think there's a small small part of the map called the Zonai Ruins. That's it.

Anyways I still think they butchered these characters and didn't even explain much about them. Just alien twins that are supposedly the originators of Hyrule. Where'd they come from? How did the male twin impregnate a Hylian woman? No one knows.

It's really not that farfetched. It's fucking Zelda, there are countless YT channels dedicated to dissecting every tiny, insignificant bit of info the games give out about its lore and shit.

I don't care much about not knowing their history, but I just do not find them interesting. Visually they're kinda neat, because they're like goats or something. But, as people, they bored me to tears.

It's annoying when people act like children, but this is /v/ and that is the reality of things.
You can still choose to ignore them and carry on. Other people can do the same. Far from impossible.

I'm a little miffed that TotK did away with a lot of the really nice looking grassy plains in BotW.
I get that that particular type of environment was probably a bit overdone, but I really loved the northeast region in Akkala and would often go there to just run around and hang out.
But, in TotK it is kind of an eyesore, with the giant chasm and large chunks taken out of it. Same goes for some other areas that just looked ''cleaner'' in BotW.
Guess that's not much of a critique, I just found it a little sad.

this game was discussed for weeks when it came out. The problem is this game and it's prequel are both horrible bastardizations of the zelda formula and everyone wants to go back

If you are to cherry pick only the good aspects of the game it easy to paint it as excellent game. However if we make a simple bullet point list all of the positives and negatives. The negative list dwarves the positive aspects to point there is no other conclusion but this is an objectively a bad game.

I suppose that's a good way to put it. I do like that TotK's environment was a bit more fucked up and doing the main dungeons did change the world in a permanent way, even if the changes were regional.
I kinda wish there was a way to ''heal'' Hyrule after the upheaval shit. Would have been really nice to watch the beauty return to the land. But, I can also understand how that would be quite an undertaking.

They addressed most of that pretty well didn't they? Zonai are (one of many?) Races that lived in the world above the land. This was written by the same guy who wrote Skyward Sword so I assume he intends it to all be congruous.

Remember those bizarre robots from SS? The ones that just existed on the surface and ran mining operations and were clearly from some technologically advanced society which clearly pre-dated humanity and also somehow survived all the evil that Hylia raised humanity onto islands to avoid? They clearly had the idea for the Zonai even back then and now they formally introduced them here - a separate race that lived in the sky/elsewhere and eventually mingled with Hylians, going extinct as superior human genes overwrote them.

Those two were stated in TotK to be the last Zonai who touched down on the land and lived with Hylians, only their child survived and partial Zonai/Hylian children slowly were made into pure Hylians over several generations. It' not outlandish in a series where fish people became bird people in less than 100 years just for the hell of it. Only real question is if they plan on doing more games set after SS but before Minish Cap and OoT where we get to see more Zonai.
