It's because young zoomers, and many of the older zoomers, cannot fathom a world where they are truly "alone" - that is to say, disconnected from the internet, not readily able to contact anyone in the world at a moments notice, etc. Old games are self contained, offline, solitary - therefore they break the minds of those who cannot recall a time when "the internet of things" didn't exist. This is also why they fear / use old technology in horror in general - VHS tapes, cassettes, film, polaroids, etc.
