Skyward Sword is making me appreciate BotW and TotK. In this game you can really see what Zelda with waning passion is like. Everything just feels like they are going through the paces, the areas feel more like Mario levels than lived in worlds with stories behind them. The side quests are all small scale and boring, and small scale really sums up the game. Somehow in a way I dont understand, even OoT and MM felt like they had bigger, more realized worlds than this. Its the game that made me realize why they took everything back to the drawing board. I still wish BotW and TotK would have had way better enemy variety, but at least the two of them felt like I was on an adventure and not just jumping from level to level.
Can't wait to play the Oracle games and Minish after I finish this one up.

BOTW was better because it came first. TOTK is just BOTW but they injected their gimmick into the world in the least organic way possible

once I realized the tutorial level was the biggest part of the sky islands I lowered my expectations. still fun, but it never reached the heights I imagined it would
I loved it. There's no reason to ever play BotW again when TotK exists. I think a perfect analogy to it is Smash 4 to Ultimate. Sure they are similar and Smash 4 came first, but Ultimate is just more and improved in every way. I feel the same about TotK.

Is it just me, or have you made this thread 10,000 times before? Tell me, do you even have time for vidya with how much you shitpost here? What was the last vidya you even played?

It's sort of just BotW but again, now relying on you enjoying the building mechanics, but assembly feels a little more awkward than I'd prefer it to be and it takes a second before you can make vehicles worth a shit with the battery capacity so I just didn't get into it

Oh, like you've ever given two shits about staying on topic before. All you have to do is answer the goddamn question and I'll take you seriously for once.

It's great, but suffers from Mario Galaxy 2 syndrome. It improves on its predecessor but lacks the excitement and novelty of the first.

Because you're doing SUCH a great job staying on topic right now, aren't you? What are you so afraid of anyway? It reminds of the time I asked for proof that you owned a steam deck and you absolutely refused to do so. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously if you never provide any sort of clear evidence to back up your absurd claims?
Reminder that TotK is amongst the Top 5 most acclaimed and successful games of the past 25 years and the Deluxe, Definitive re-release on Switch is currently the highest rated game of 2025.
lmao no, I just watched Nerral's latest video where he compares Switch 2 to a high end PC and and the Switch 2 versions of BotW/TotK BTFO any emulation version. Sorry, Switch 2 chads won.
