Steamies confirmed for CONSOOOOOOOMER retards
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/knowing-steam-players-are-hoarders-explains-why-you-give-valve-that-30-percent-analyst-tells-devs-you-get-access-to-a-bunch-of-drunken-sailors-who-spend-money-irresponsibly/

>"If Steam shoppers were rational and only bought games they were going to play, we would sell a lot fewer games," says Zukowski. "Half this industry would be gone."

>"The amazing thing about Steam and its player base is that they buy games they aren't going to play," says Zukowski in a new post (first spotted by GR+). "More than likely the person buying your game is not going to play it."

Steam bros..... we're literally just a bunch of sheeple who have more money than sense. Jesus christ. I don't even think jesus is real but jesus christ steambros... and we make fun of forntite kiddies who buy skins for a game they like and actively PLAY???? god lord gaben please, this can't be true.....

I started playing and actually beating so many more games ever since I went back to consoles and MiSTer. No distractions, no bullshit troubleshooting, more comfortable.

Also
>boot up 360 game on XSX back compat
>it just works flawlessly and looks and plays great at 4k/60 with fast loading

>boot up same 7th gen game on PC
>most of the time it won't even launch at all, and if it does with major issues
>troubleshoot and dumpster dive through forums and PCGW for solutions, download fan patches
>sometimea it finally boots but still has a ton of issues
>sometimes it still never even fucking boots
>no or very limited controller support

I just want to sit back on my couch, relax, and play a game not be hunched over a desk constantly tinkering and troubleshooting bullshit

I've played like 80 pc games this year and they've all just worked, you're probably doing something wrong

yes, preying on "collector" mentality is useful in every context if you're trying to sell stuff

it's actually much easier to trigger the collector mindset with physical goods though, since there are tangible things being collected for the monkeybrain to viscerally interact with. Valve's version is much weaker than those people who have rooms chock full of games and merch and figures and crap

if you're not willing/able to do this, then PC is not for you
stick with consoles where if the game is broken/shitty but have no option of fixing it yourself (they will gladly sell you a 'fixed' version for full price next gen though)

But with digital, it has less heft (literally), so it's like you're not getting as much. It's almost like you're not even spending real money, meaning people spend way more.

It's mostly games from 2015 and earlier.

Also having AMD GPU, 4k monitor, VRR, high refresh rate, or dual monitor massively increases chance of a game having issues
