I saw the slapfight between him and Code Jesus or whatever that other guy is. Code Jesus does bring up valid points (constants instead of magic numbers, for loops) but also he's the other spectrum of programming brainrot (OH A LIST? XML IT!!! XMLLL ITTTT!!!). I think an array for quest flags is fine and it's been done for years. He might do it as an object with a class managing it but at the same time it's game maker so it's basically a weird C/C++ derivative script language.
I think my biggest issue with Thor is that he stopped doing programming for clout streams. Programming is a boring thing and streaming it requires some other stuff to talk about while you're doing it, because sometimes the results are not flashy or obvious. I do demoscene and when you program demos at least the results are pretty flashy/obvious when the demo is being run. But when it comes to a game? You can spend 9 days revamping an internal system and the viewers would hardly notice it.
Nepo baby needs to stop streaming daily and work on his game, period. That daily stream does 0 to push him towards game completion and has become an excuse for him not to finish the game.
