I wouldn't mind. The setting needs to be fleshed out and the big pale dudes in themselves is the best major addition to the series lore since the first three movies. Just write them to be an offshoot of a more advanced and eldritch entity in the galaxy, like shoggoths, great race of yith or fishmen in Lovecraft.

There's two ideas:
One is super-fertilizer that makes evolutionary biology go into hyper-competitive overdrive. New predatory life forms sprout out of all infected flesh and it eventually relaxes over generations of the new life. The engineers or whoever is manufacturing the goo can tweak the "fertilizer" to reform the fauna in their own designs.
Second is that it works as a planetary cleanser, working the same as a fertilizer except it never relaxes, the mutated fauna just eats itself out and the eco-system collapses.

My headcanon:
Pale men are an engineered servile species of something more advanced, not unlike the synthetics of mankind. Something went wrong over the ages, the leader species was eradicated / went dormant. The pale guys fractured into subgroups that wanted to preserve their creators' works, and one that wanted to dominate the inherited assets. The pale guys that left the maps were loyalists, expecting humanity, as another offshoot or experiment of their creators' works to come join them on their home world when they are able to traverse in space. During the thousands of years, however, the renegade engineers wiped out the loyalists at least on that planet. Maybe something during the attack went wrong and a lone surviving renegade went into hypersleep to wait out the contamination.

They need to stop with the Ripley lineage.
The films had that problem and 3 solved it, Resurrection had terrible writers that didn't know what to do with their precious human main character.
That fucked the series over until future films did really well and showed people the ALIEN films being about ALIENS, not the Ripley family.

Isolation needs to drop Ripley altogether.
1 had the problem that we KNOW Amanda survives, she grows old and dies of cancer at 66.
So 1 had reduced tension because of that; we know she survives.
If they make a sequel with her we know she survives that too.

The best thing they could do is just come up with an original story and add it to the extended universe like the comics do.
