It was supposed to be Anduin. That would have been his rite of passage as a man and duty as Alliance's leader, dick down the banshee's craziness.

Of course that faggot Danuser wouldn't allow it.

The BfA intro was one of the last thing Metzen worked on before leaving Blizzard. We know that these CGI cinematics take Blizzard about a year to complete, so it's obvious that the whole BfA plotline changed radically during development. Probably thanks to that fag Danuser.

It was about the expansion being a completely different story when the cinematic was made and Lizzard not telling them that this was retconned

Considering a woman screaming is what will summon men to defend them, they're not entirely wrong. Sad, but not wrong.

subconsciously they probably feel like screaming = strong, but they don't understand or want to admit that it is because of men coming the their aid, but since it feels right to them they just put it in as is as a display of power which makes no sense

BfA is such a clusterfuck you can argue there are three separate storylines happening in the opening events of Teldrassil and Lordaeron that they keep jumping between. This is every event in chronological order:
>A Good War: novella timeline, Sylvanas has very justifiable reasons for going to war and is entirely concerned with the Horde's security, Saurfang is on board
>War of Thorns A: pre-SL timeline where Sylvanas burns Teldrassil upon realizing that they face an impossible task in keeping the night elves at bay otherwise, and takes glee in crushing the hopes of a dying defender
War of Thorns B: Sylvanas burns the tree to give the Jailer countless souls as fuel
>Old Soldier cinematic: tied to War of Thorns timeline, Saurfang is outraged and lost all hope after the War of Thorns, but only manages to find a spark of hope in a young face in the Horde
>BfA main cinematic: A Good War timeline, Sylvanas fights for the Horde with Saurfang rallying the troops in her name
>Battle for Lordaeron in-game: War of Thorns timeline, Sylvanas plague bombs her own troops and Saurfang loses all hope again

I just find it impossible to belief somebody looked at the Garrosh plotline of Mists of Pandaria, easily the part of that expansion people liked the least, and decided "We needed to do that again but worse." Something went horribly wrong, and Shadowland was their horribly failed attempt to try and unfuck it by just making her a double agent. Which, would frankly be character assassination if there was still a character left to assassinate.

I have never understood the whole "screaming is cathartic" thing either. If I am feeling upset I am not feeling any better after "letting it out", it is not like it affects the reasons why I am upset.

>Thought Shadowlands and Sylvanas turning evil was going to be seeing the fate of her people as doomed to the maw because they are undead seen when she died briefly in Cataclysm and her trying to take over and rewrite the laws of death to save herself and her people
>It was stupid shit instead as always

Because like other Anons said, when women scream men come to their aid to solve their problems. It's "cathartic" because it actually does make the problem go away
