Pretty fucking obvious considering they weren't adding Switch 2 games. I doubt we will get many Switch 1 games past 2026 anyway so this really only effects late adopters. (who could probably easily get secondhand Switch 1 games for $50 or less now)

they also probably noticed that and decided to axe the program all together you can't use it on Switch 2 games and I'm pretty sure it won't work on upcoming Switch 1 games. Losing gold points though definitely sucked because you would get actual credit back and that saves a couple of bucks off a game or can net you free dlc or smaller titles if you had enough points for it

I bought the vouchers once. Got Famicom Detective Club since it didn't have physical copies. And I think I got Kirby or something even though I would have preferred a physical copy.

I only got the vouchers once. They were a good deal but since I've never wanted to buy digital games I just never got much use of it.
Still kind of stings to see them go though. Especially since I'd probably get much more use of it on the Switch2, for better or worse, since regrettably it appears like we're going to get more digital-only releases (keycards aren't physical).

probably because switch 2 games will vary in price they don't want to make it so you get the voucher and then it's a 50/50 chance on whether or not you'll get ripped off compared to games being just straight $60 so you'd always save $20 no matter what by using the vouchers
