Calling Nintendo Switch 2 a Portable PS4 isn't the shade you think it is. It's a compliment, in fact.

It's par for the course for handhelds to be a generation or two behind home/stationary consoles. Yet the graphical jump between PS4 and PS5 is much narrower compared to the jumps generations before them.

To call Switch 2 a PS4-P, then, is to say that the graphical gap between Switch 2 and PS5 is the smallest it has ever been for handhelds and home/stationary consoles.

It's obviously stronger than a PS4. Ignoring the spec differences even, you can just look at Metroid Prime 4. That's a PS4 quality visual game but running at 4k60, whereas the PS4 usually targetted 108030. Switch 2 is like a halfway between PS4 pro and Series S, with better anti aliasing than either because of DLSS.

You can see this in other enhanced switch 1 games by the way. Odyssey/BotW/TotK are all running about 5x the power of the original. The PS4 was about 4x the tflops of the switch, but had a less efficient architecture, so more like 3x the power. So obviously these lazy remasters of switch 1 games running at 5x the switch 1 power is more than the PS4 could do. There's literally no game on the switch 2 running PS4 level so PS4 comparisons are retarded.
