When these devices get so expensive not having ability to install a regular desktop OS becomes a big issue
Why would anyone buy that level of hardware if its arbitrarily blocked from doing things that the hardware can do just fine. The fucking things pricetag isn't even subsidized, then you have to be locked in to their store? What.

Chip shortage during covid that allowed them to boost prices, and never went back down
UE5 used for every game with shit performance necessitating a strong gpu
Ray tracing forced down your throat because devs can't be arsed to bake lighting anymore
DLSS slop required to get decent framerate

I am pretty sure a normal PS5 Pro also comes with RAM, a motherboard, a PSU and a CPU. You clearly don't have that.
Even Sony wouldn't sell you an empty plastic box.

LMAO THEY GOT THAT FOR 800 BUCKS LOOOOL.

Ok look, there are two reasons
1:
People got the xx90s for both so the price has increased
it increased so much that buying xx80s and connecting then was cheaper than buying xx90s. And that has gone down the stack
2:
They are made of the same materials using the same process. Selling xx60s for $200 made no sense when they could have made and sold xx90s for 2k.
With the price any lower making the xx60s GPUs wouldn't make any sense business wise, we are competing with business clients for the fab time.

Because it's better and gives you way more options and freedom. It's for people who do not just want to passively consume things.

You don't have to do that for a PC either, you can just buy a shitty prebuilt from fucking Dell. It's a retarded and meaningless thing to say all around. You are literally paying for those parts, because they are part of the product and needed for it to function.
