Gordian Quest is great. Couldn't get into Slay the Spire or Across the Obelisk for the long haul but both Monster Train games were fun for awhile too.

I don't see a problem with it, Digimon doesn't have dedicated zones beyond trash, deck and raising.

why do all card games have terrible monetization? i dont want to buy fucking packs i just want to play the game. there's only one card game i can think of that just gives every player all the cards and only sells cosmetics (Prismata) and it flopped.

Dopamine rush from opening packs is an important psychological aspect of why TCGs do well. This is part of the reason phsyical TCGs still sell you randomized packs instead of just selling cards directly outside of premium products.

i just print off the cards i want to use for physical tcgs. the people at my lgs dont care about proxies. "Dopamine rush from opening packs" is really just toy companies preying on people with a gambling problem. i think there's a big untapped market of people who would buy a well designed card game as a single purchase full price game where they get all the cards.

There isn't.
>proof
There are actually a lot of games just like what you're describing where you have a card game where you buy all of the available cards as a single set like that one game which adds in a board game element and emulates the lifecycle of a tcg or that one game made by a former konami employee where its 3v1. The only really successful one were Yugioh Speed Duel box sets.

I'm still mad about how they butchered the first shadowverse with censorship, new garbage redesigns for the main cast (Isabelle got it the worst) and worst of all that shitty anime

yeah, and there's people who play digital simulators, these are popular as a budget alternative or because its lets you playtest before you commit to buying singles for a deck.

Those are called deck building games.
They don't get the same amount of love as TCGs get.
