taking fighting games "serious" isnt healthy and also not fun even once you reach a certain level. I have probably spend 5-10k hours over the last 15 years in this genre in shit like ggpo, fightcade and the usual big names. you hate yourself if you lose and sometimes you hate yourself even if you win because you fucked something up and you are angry about it. miserable genre for miserable people.

You don’t have to jump on the new and shiny thing every time you know? The older games are still there for you and us to play and enjoy, ideally you have a group of people to play these older games. I tapped out of modern fgs, they all look the same to me. I still boot up melty aacc, alpha 2/3 and some older snk fgs once or twice a month and press buttons with a close friend. I suck but it’s a ton of fun and there’s no stress about it being changed because there are no patches
