If you want to know the real reason why Ireland doesn't have any big game developers, I'd guess it's a mixture of:

1. Ireland's advanced economy is pretty recent and came about quite quickly. The country was very economically backwards and underdeveloped when the Irish boomer generation was growing up; most of them didn't go to college. Most big AAA game companies started out in the 80's/90's, and this was when Ireland's economy was only starting to take off.

2. The high concentration of tech companies in Ireland means that people with those skills will probably have much more promising options than game development to work in

3. It's also just a very small country

I'm Irish and prefer English women and I also love their accents especially the posh RP accent ones.
