I never left. I leveled to 60 in Classic super slow and casually. I enjoyed the journey, and had no intention of getting into the game seriously again. Then at 60 my friend invited me to a ZG.

MoP was peak class design... every class had so many spells.. so much new cool shit.. the best legendary system too... green fire... the class dungeon sets..

It depends how Blizz handles their "no changes" promises. I played a MW Monk and had a spell where I could spawn near infinite healing orbs on top of myself repeatedly at a very small mana cost and never die in PVP. It was so much fun. From memory it was like this most of the xpac so if they nerf or remove it, I probably won't go back.

Yes, but only because I never played the original MoP. Burned out on Cata and didn't come back until WoD launch.

They're actively changing tons of things and class balance.

i've already done what i do with every wow classic expansion.
buy it. play it for a day or two. realize i hate how dated the mechanics are. quit.
retail's qol is so much better it's insane

classic should have been like a time-capsule / keep the memory of WoW before any expansions, i dropped it the moment I heard they're gearing up to TBC and every other expansion. Not interested in giving blizzard any more money, anyone still paying them money must be lying to themselves saying "this is somehow worth it"

This, just looking at some of the MoP Classic PTR announcements tells you all you need to know about what the community will be like. Maybe it was common with WF raids or whatever but I don't remember anyone doing this shit in MoP, yet it would have been required even in even normal pugs on classic if they hadn't been forced to make changes. I don't know how anyone can stomach any form of classic at this point.
