But it was under the naive premise that women would learn what made games cool and then increasingly make it popular amongst themselves first. Instead, women pointed out things that didn't fit their existing world-views and wanted to change vidyas into something lesser than it was, and created an atmosphere of self-censorship among male employees who became increasingly afraid of getting into trouble by doing what they used to.
That's been toxic, and largely killed the entire culture of video games, so I'm always happy to see that removed.
