I wish they actually would ban AI content. Everytime I search for a review about a kinda niche tech product I get 5 AI reviews and 1 real one buried in the search. i don't think it's going to be going that far as the OP says, especially in the case of reaction channels. there's still allowances for monetization by meeting some minimal requirements like as long as you're "using your real life voice" in your content you're fine, seems they're primarily targeting the content farms that reupload the same shit 100 times (i.e. those old finger family spam channels) or things that are 100% nothing but AI content slapped together like those fake movie trailer indian content farm channels

it seems like a step in the right direction but not quite far enough there yet at the same time

The reason this was made was no doubt to combat the onslaught of Quick buck making easy to make-Ai videos that were everywhere. It was easy to make fake Ai trailers that fooled people and got millions of views and made money that way. There were metric shit tons of bandwagon hoppers doing it.

Not to mention the Ai vids were a copyright nightmare that could get them into trouble with big names like Disney.
