It wasn't a samurai flick, it was an alternate history flick and the hip hop soundtrack was just a small part of it. In those series the characters had modern hairstyles, and shit like break dancing existed in the world that they shouldn't.

I watched Champloo for the first time about a month ago. There were some great episodes for sure, but overall I'd say it was mid. The 2 parters and the baseball episode are all top tier while the rest are a mixed bag varying from good to slog tier.

Also nobody used kurosawa mode because the game is too colorful and playing it on black and white makes you a retard. Yet nobody had a meltdown about it in tsushima.
