Platinum is (mostly) better but it's like a ROM hack
Platinum didn't create Sinnoh. The only characters it came up with were Looker, Charon, and the Frontier Brains. The only additional Pokémon were the legendary birds and Regis (event-only). Someone who plays DP is not going to have a life-changing experience by spending $40 to play something that's practically the same thing.

There's absolutely zero reason to play gamefreakslop when pokemon romhacks are so popular and good. Renegade Platinum is the perfect vanilla+ hack.

You really should. While 4th gen wasn't my favorite, Platinum at least made it salvageable. And yeah the slowness was fixed in some areas but not all though. Mostly the surf speed. I wouldn't be surprised if fans made a mod to fix the slowness of D/P/P.
