I downloaded maple worlds to play that new roguelite game they made, it was pretty fun, managed to clear it on my first try too because I got this insane Zakum Helmet lol. Will probably not give it another go but I definitely recommend checking it out.

Official OSMS means just like OSRS the company will do whatever it takes to keep the game alive and print money even if it means it no longer have the spirit of being old school. Nexon is super well known for NOT listening to their playerbase. They been fucking up the main game not for years but for fucking decades yet you expect the same people to magically do better the next time around? If they wanted to be successful they would had already done it with the real game. OSMS likely will be dead in two years just like MS2. Nexon is a company that host MMOs to print what they can then axe it as soon as it is no longer profitable. Like that is their whole motto. People who don't hate Nexon by default clearly didn't grow up with Maplestory or quit as soon it got slightly bad. Trust me they got a lot worst post-Big Bang. I *heard* they are doing better at not being shit but hard to believe such claims when the company is still Nexon as a whole. Maplestory isn't the only game they left to die.

Brawler is honestly one of my favorite classes (it disgusts me when private servers try to "fix" them and make so many bad changes in the process).

Pirate damage was always ass until 4th job anyway, and even so Buccaneers weren't around for their damage. They were there for CC, SI, and the occasional TL for Shadowers/Bishops.

WoW Classic is NOT scratching the itch that Runescape/Maplestory scratches. I can't resell my gear, the endgame is to easily reached. Leveling is way to fast even in vanilla by comparison to maplestory. I miss Maplestory man. I really hope Nexon looks at OSRS and uses it as a proper blueprint to remake OG Maplestory. I've been using Steam's controller support to play Maple with a controller for a year now. It's much better than whatever the shit that they have built into the game itself. Though there's one think that makes it a bit annoying.

Here are some extremely "convenient" cash shop items that will probably cost real world money:
- Pet auto loot
- Pet auto potion
- VIP teleport rock
- Megaphone
- AP/SP reset
- Owl of Minerva
- Safety Charm
Not being able to use these times, either out of principle or lack of money, will severely gimp your playing experience.
Once you've experience all of those, you can never go back.
So unless they make the cash shop items buyable with mesos, I don't see Classic Maple surviving beyons the first month hype (among other garbage game design choices that need fixing...)

You could sell them on steam for a month or so but they removed that. I really don't know how it works on a normal server otherwise. I think you could trade loot box cash items but I've not been on a normal server for a long time.

I play in a Reboot/Heroic server where you progress by simply grinding and killing bosses. I don't really know what kind of P2W cancer regular server people deal with. In this server all trade is disabled. People can trade boss carries kind of but that's about it.

Right now reg is in an okay spot. It would definitely be better if we had magic wand to make cubing easier (to supplement the loss of normal cube sales they could start offering more premium cubes through the cash shop only), but with 6th job getting to ctene is feasible without opening your wallet. The general sentiment is that reboot has it way easier in the early game but end game you hit a hard wall since a lot of the systems in place are meant for a game with trading such as pitched items or even fragments, so reboot at the moment is completely fucked to endlessly grind for fragments and pray that they get lucky in their weekly bossing (not even guaranteed progression either if the item booms when starforcing). Reg on the other hand has new players effectively deadlocked until they can find a way to start making mesos outside of weekly bossing since you need the mesos to buy decent gear unless you want to subject yourself to grinding boss cubes on the hope of hitting 2L unique items.

The meso market lets you buy maple points for mesos (same thing as nx but you can't use reward points to discount purchases and it's not available for the marvel machine whenever that's active). Right now the current rate is 100m mesos gets you about 480 maple points. It's been slowly recovering, but it takes a long time for the economy to grow. I remember back in the NEO update the exchange rate was around 100m to 800 points, though I don't remember any major events between then and now that caused the economy to tank.

I just barely hit the point where I can do H.Lomien easily as I had been saving for the Starforce event. Should have switched to Gollux gear earlier but whatever. I just do dailies, and weekly bosses and let the eventual power creep carry me the rest of the way.

It's pretty okay once you get a few mules that can clear CRA in a few seconds. I probably should join a guild or make one, but it's feels a bit tryhard since this is a game I play while talking to other people.
