Imperials are descended from Nedes and are native to the continent of Tamriel.
Nords are descended from Atmorans, a people from a different continent to the north. They used to be giants.
Yokudans are from a continent to the west that was sunk into the ocean after a big war. They are also probably not from Nirn.
Bretons are the result of an era when Mer held dominion over Men, creating an entirely new race of half-elves (more like 1/256 merokee at this point, but nonetheless).
That's objectively more interesting than
