I think what Kizuna Ai was doing is a lot closer to japanese variety shows than anime really, I think at best you'll get some slice of life type anime out of vtubers, when you watch a group of girls who share a hobby and you watch their daily life through streams, but generally vtubers especially japanese ones could be separated into variety shows or street performers, like singers, Layla is the performer category, she sings songs and people give her tips, it just moved from cafes or from parks to the internet
